Preparing for the Future in Liberia!
Posted 5/4/2007
Dear friends and supporters,
We are getting prepared and are hoping for good things for this upcoming trip!
Our plan is to be in Monrovia for two weeks early June, with approximately ten people on our team. The team will consist of several people in the filming industry and others with building experience. We have several goals in mind ~ we will be tearing down and rebuilding these broken-down houses and getting a clear idea on the cost and time it will take per home. We want to be able to get a nice DVD out of this work that we can show in churches to raise funds for doing these houses on a regular basis with the older Liberian boys.
Things we could really use for this trip:
Battery-powered hand-tools: drills, circular saws, sawsall, etc. with extra battery packs
Funds to purchase materials to rebuild at least two or three village homes, and funds to pay some of the Liberians who will labor with us in this endeavor.
Also, funds to help with some medical needs of the children residing in the village homes we will be working on...they appear to be in need, their mothers are very poor! We need funds or donations of Bibles as well.
I also need to file some papers for Children Concerned's purchase of land within various government agencies there.
If anyone would like to financially help, we would greatly appreciate your partnership in this exciting adventure! We estimate the cost of this project and tools to be $4000-5000.
